TEXTILE STUDY

A variety of textured and colored linen fabrics and a piece of stone or concrete surface.

Natural fibres reveal their character through irregularity — the weave, slub, crease and softened edge. Linen, wool and tactile weaves respond to light differently throughout the day, bringing depth and warmth to a restrained interior.

Patina

Close-up of rusty metal and weathered stone objects, including bowls and panels, arranged on a textured stone surface with shadows and sunlight.

Time leaves its own finish. Oxidation, wear, softened edges and subtle variations give materials a history that cannot be manufactured — allowing an interior to feel collected, lived in and quietly individual.

THE HANDMADE SURFACE

Three textured cement tiles with different colors and patterns, placed on a work surface with a trowel and a bowl of powdered material nearby.

Imperfection can also be intentional. The marks left by hand — a trowel stroke, an uneven edge, subtle shifts in tone — give a surface depth and individuality that a perfectly uniform finish cannot reproduce
